Last September, Klaviyo announced a complete redesign of their personalized product recommendations, including rule-based recommendations. This major update allows you to enhance the customer experience by making emails more personalized, increase conversions with tailored recommendations, and gain better insight into which items are being shown to your customers.
Today, we’re making it easier to embed personalized product recommendations by enabling you to discover and create dynamic product feeds directly in the email template editor.
Why This Feature?
Previously, there was no efficient way to add dynamic product recommendations. Personalization is crucial to staying competitive in today’s consumer landscape. More than 78% of consumers want digital, cross-channel versions of personalized experiences, and 91% are more likely to shop with brands that recognize, remember, and provide them with relevant offers. That’s why 1-to-1 personalization is absolutely essential. However, it’s not easy—63% of digital marketers struggle with delivering personalization. There’s a growing need for greater automation at scale and more machine learning and AI tools.
Klaviyo offers a streamlined way to recommend personalized products at scale through dynamic product feeds. Until now, this feature was only available in the product feed editor, where you had to create a feed first before adding it as a product block to an email template.
One Place to Add, Create, and View Product Feeds
Now, you can create, view, and add dynamic product feed data directly within the email template editor—maximizing efficiency and enhancing personalization all in one place. Once you drag a product block into your email template, your most recent product feeds will automatically populate. If you prefer to use a different feed—or if you haven’t created one yet—you can now build a custom product feed. You’ll be able to select the appropriate filters and personalization settings, such as product type, price, and stock levels.
Key applications of personalization include:
- Creating personalized product recommendations based on your customer’s behavior—such as what they’ve recently viewed, items they’ve added to their cart, or a best-selling product they might like—to encourage win-backs and repeat purchases.
- Adding filters to your product recommendations—such as price and stock levels—to ensure you aren’t recommending products with low inventory and that you’re showcasing items within your customer’s price range.
