Smyle
Smyle is toothpaste without the waste. Plastic tubes don’t decompose and are harmful to our planet and oceans. Together with two other entrepreneurs, I founded Smyle to solve this problem. In our webshop, we offer toothpaste in tablet form, so you can brush your teeth just like always—only now without plastic waste. No tubes, no microplastics, and no artificial foaming agents, colorants, or fillers.
Smyle is all about building a community of like-minded people who want to live more sustainably. Our goal is to grow this community so we can take better care of the planet together. We do this through our social channels—and now also through Klaviyo.

De Uitdaging
At first, we set up some flows in Klaviyo ourselves through self-study. But it took our team far too much time to further optimize things on our own. We lacked the in-depth expertise needed to build the kind of complex flows we were aiming for—ones with custom elements. Our initial request to Polaris was therefore a Klaviyo audit to identify areas for improvement.
After getting to know them, we realized that leveraging their broader expertise—not just in Klaviyo as a marketing automation tool, but also in conversion optimization and both functional and technical analytics—was actually much more valuable. That’s why we had Polaris optimize and partly rebuild our Klaviyo setup, and we also started working on improving our webshop conversion.
The team at Polaris has the knowledge and experience that directly aligns with the challenges we faced. Our business case relies heavily on strong conversion and repeat purchases—and Klaviyo plays a key role in our marketing strategy.
Webshop Optimization at Smyle
Polaris Growth also supported us in optimizing our WooCommerce website, and we’ve made significant progress thanks to that collaboration. We were able to increase our conversion rate substantially as a result of working with Polaris Growth.
There’s an overwhelming amount of content out there on e-commerce growth. It’s easy to lose sight of what really matters. That’s why our sessions with Polaris Growth were so valuable. Using our analytics data—refined in part by Omar, the co-founder—Ewoud conducted a detailed analysis of where users were dropping off in our funnel. This gave us valuable insights and clear action points to work on.

We had our own flows running, but the email flows built by Polaris quickly started performing much better. Within just one month, we had already earned back the cost of working with Polaris Growth. So the investment in their services has absolutely been a positive business case for us.
The great thing about Klaviyo is that once the foundation is solid, it generates recurring revenue. That’s the strength of Polaris Growth’s setup.
What I’d like to tell other entrepreneurs is that these guys really know their stuff when it comes to Klaviyo. And if there’s ever a technical issue, Polaris has direct contacts at Klaviyo. They’re able to solve things quickly, which is a big plus.
