Migration to Klaviyo and conversion optimization for vegan vitamin brand

Yummygums was founded in 2017, and I (Frank van Driel) have been involved since the very beginning. The founders were athletes who eventually got tired of swallowing traditional vitamin pills. Their goal was to create vitamins that are easy to take and actually taste good. In addition, our gummies are vegan, free from artificial additives, and made with high-quality ingredients. That way, taking a supplement becomes a treat instead of a chore.

In the US, a few companies were already offering tasty vitamin gummies, but in Europe, that concept didn’t really exist yet. Yummygums aims to solve the common issue of unopened or half-used vitamin bottles sitting in kitchen cupboards. Our main target audience is women, as they often buy vitamins for the whole family — but our supplements are designed for everyone, young and old, men and women.

Currently, we have a team of six people and we’re already selling internationally in several countries. We recently secured funding to help us scale faster across borders. We’re also continuously expanding our product range and exploring opportunities to move into new product categories.

De Uitdaging

In the first year, our main focus was finding product-market fit. For example, we visited trade shows to learn what flavors people liked. We also placed samples at hundreds of hair salons, since one of our products is particularly beneficial for hair health. That strategy worked well in two ways: it helped build greater trust in our brand and it also boosted sales.

Our collaboration with Polaris Growth stemmed from our goal to improve conversion rates. At the same time, we didn’t have the internal capacity to do a deep dive into our customer data. We were also still using Mailchimp, but it wasn’t meeting our needs — so we decided to switch to Klaviyo. We brought Polaris Growth on board to handle the migration from Mailchimp to Klaviyo, set up Klaviyo properly, build our flows, and optimize our website for conversion.

It is clear that Polaris Growth possesses the right knowledge and has the capabilities to apply and execute that knowledge.

We started working together in November, with the initial focus on migrating from Mailchimp to Klaviyo and setting up a number of essential flows. The team began by redeveloping the welcome flow, followed by rebuilding and implementing several other flows. Ewoud (Partner at Polaris) also supported us strategically throughout the process.

For us, Polaris Growth essentially functions as an interim team member — someone who helps set things up properly until we’re ready to take over and manage it ourselves.
